Three Multimedia Interactives, Six Staging Installation 2001
Mystus provided three multimedia interactives, including the Arctic Quiz game described below, and fabricated the staging components for the recent addition of the Polar Bear area at the Detroit Zoo. A computer based interactive video and a web based database retrieval kiosk were also included in the exhibition.
Amazing Arctic Animals is an original quiz game designed to teach users of all ages about arctic animals and their habitat. Mystus drew upon its experience creating interactive quizzes to develop, design and program a unique and updateable product for The Detroit Zoological Society. The quiz features a visually pleasing, touch-screen interface programmed for two levels of ability: an easy beginner game (for kids) and a more advanced version (for adults). A typical user is presented with different options, some of which are quite amusing, and asked to guess which one is correct. The user’s answer determines their rating on the “genius meter” and they are provided with feedback and encouragement to continue playing. Mystus provided added value and extended the quiz by creating a product that the zoo’s staff could easily update with new image and text quiz content.
