Advertising started out as useful notices about things people need, posted in places where people might go to find something. Advertising has become a continuous avalanche of loud blaring messages telling you to buy something whether you need it or not. Herein we present some history on the development of advertising, distinguish between Solicited and Unsolicited advertising, and paint a picture of a world without unsolicited advertising.
